Today was the 100th day of school. We celebrated with a STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) activity where the kiddos built structures out of 100 objects. They used legos, pattern blocks, straws, dominoes, pipe cleaners, cups, locking cubes, and popcicle sticks.

We had a fun Valentine party complete with "Minute to Win It" games, some yummy food and a mountain of valentines from classmates. Thanks for bringing in treats and helping your child write out the little cards.
We are participating in a letter writing project. Each student wrote letters to one or two schools across the country and sent them a hand made Valentine. We received a letter and a Valentine back from these same 23 schools. It was so much fun to read about other states and see what these first and second graders created for us.
We traveled to the Reif Center in Grand Rapids to experience Koo Koo Kangaroo - two guys that sing and dance crazy songs. Every morning for our Go Noodle brain break, we dance along to the Koo Koo Kangaroo guys, so the kiddos were super excited to see them live. We spent the entire half hour on our feet doing crazy dances. What a blast! |
